5 Romantic Ideas for a Christmas Proposal

Perfect romantic proposal ideas

Christmas is one of the most popular times of the year for proposals as it’s packed with perfect ways to pop the question.

Decorating the tree, the first snow fall or cosy nights in by a roaring log fire, the festive season is filled with magic and excitement, even for the grown ups!

Here’s a few of the most romantic ways to ask your partner for their hand in marriage over the Christmas period.

Let It Snow

There’s nothing more special than snow fall at Christmas. As the landscape is transformed into a winter wonderland, why not go for a woodland walk or a stroll along the beach? There are certainly plenty to choose from in Cornwall! You could write your proposal in the snow or build a snow man, placing the ring on one of the snow man’s stick hands.

On The Ice

Decorated with string lights and with a festive soundtrack on in the background, many ice-skating rinks at Christmas make a perfect fairy tale backdrop to pop the question. You could ask your local ice rink to play a special song for you or perhaps you could discuss with them arrangements for a private session for your proposal.

A Winter Picnic

A picnic proposal is both thoughtful and shows preparation. Plan your outdoor feast by a fire with candles or you could perhaps hang some lanterns. Stay warm by drinking hot drinks and snuggle with your loved one beneath some blankets. If you don’t fancy preparing a banquet, toasted marshmallows will also work well when accompanied by hot chocolate.

Alternatively if braving the elements isn’t feasible, bring your picnic indoors and decorate the table with a festive/winter theme.

On The Tree

Simple yet so effective, this is a classic way to propose at Christmas. Sparkly ring boxes, ribbons and proposal baubles all work well if opting for this idea, or you could just hang the ring on the treeΒ itself for your loved one to find.
