A Rustic Boho Farm Shoot in Cornwall
Recently I took part in a styled shoot that was organised by Belles & Beaus (Rachael Couch), a local Cornish wedding planner from Fowey.
The theme was titled ‘Warrior Bride’ and was a post-lockdown, reflective shoot, designed for those brides who have had to postpone their wedding due to Covid-19.
Set in the Cornish countryside, our bride sits at her empty table, longing for the day that her guests can take their seats.
Taking a warrior stance against the stormy grey skyline, she commands strength and determination.
Her day is there waiting and she will have her day, when the time is right.
The Rosetta Nicolini gown used featured – A two piece gown with a skirt and a gold threaded corset bodice, supplied by Belles & Beaus.
The bride’s smokey eyes, diamante head chain, fern cuff and tousled hair compliment the oyster ‘Little Mistress’ bridesmaid dresses.
Both of the bridesmaid’s dresses were dressed with a diamante ribbon belt to complete their look.
A colour pallet of ivory, gold, oyster and grey with pops of pale pink/peach were used.
An abundance of foliage and pampas grass was also used, bringing this rustic, boho vibe together.
A mixture of local garden flowers were carefully put together by Katie at Brookside Flower Farm.
These included pampas grass, hydrangeas and roses.
The bridal bouquet featured garden roses, echincea and pampas grass.
Dried flower sprigs sat inside the diamante napkin rings that echoed the bride’s head chain.
Storm grey plates with gold edging rested on the crisp white table cloth, complimenting the gold cutlery perfectly.
Decorative glasses were also used and filled with echinacea, corn cockle, cornflowers, roses and larkspur.
Dove grey napkins and luggage label tags to act as name place cards completed the overall look.
The stationary, provided by Love Tree Designs, included an invitation suite printed on white hammered card with oyster coloured petals finished with ribbon.
The menus were again printed on white hammered card, with an ivory underlay and both were given ripped edges for a rustic feel.
A wax seal on the envelopes finishes the styling beautifully.
The canapes were crafted by Wellington Catering and consisted of:
Rare roasted beef filled Yorkshire puddings,
Hand made mini Cornish pasties,
Smoked mackerel and zucchini rolls,
Wild mushroom and garlic tartlets,
Crayfish and samphire cocktails and
Home cured Cornish prosciutto with peach and basil.
Mini Cornish cream teas were also served alongside limoncello martini cocktails and Moet champagne.
The three tier wedding cake made by Fallon Cakes was finished with buttercream and topped with edible flowers and berries.
