Francesca & Sam’s pretty Spring wedding at The Emerald, Cornwall

A Spring wedding at The Emerald, Cornwall

Thereā€™s something very special about a Spring wedding. The sun starts to get aĀ little warmer and colour starts to come back to the world after the Winter months.

The flowers begin to bloom and gardens are transformed into the prettiest of places, with trees heavy with blossomĀ and daffodils pushing their way out of the ground, creatingĀ splashes of bright colour.

This was certainly the setting for Francesca and Sam’s wedding at The Emerald, a venue thatĀ can only be described as a ‘hidden gem’. With it’s secluded position and 5.5 acres of lush-looking grounds, it proved to beĀ the perfect placeĀ for their beautifulĀ wedding, which took place on 31st March.

Spring officially lasts from March 1st to May 31st and within those months there are a lot of changes in the weather. Choosing to have a Spring wedding means you may have to contend with some rain showers, but this being the UK itā€™s never guaranteed to be dry regardless of the month! If you love the season though, it’s worth the risk of a shower for the natural beauty that you will find at this time of year.

Francesca and Sam were fortunate with the weather on their day; the rain that was forecastĀ didn’t make an appearance untilĀ later in the afternoon, at which point all of the key elements of the day had already taken place.

The couple had an intimate lakeside ceremony, taking their vows in the wooden arbour with their young son as the ring bearer.

Francesca owns her own business, called With A Flourish, making bespoke silk floral arrangements and she put together all of the flowers for their wedding herself; from the button holes to the stunning flower wall and archway. The colour scheme that Francesca chose were whites and creams combined withĀ vibrant pinks that fused brilliantly with the abundance of greenery on offer.

They had a small buffet laid out on the venue’s lawns where Sam surprised his bride by serenading her in front of those closest to her. It was a truly beautiful moment and I felt very privileged to be able to photograph this for them.

Congratulations Francesca and Sam!
