A Military Wedding at Trevenna Barns
Last month I had the pleasure of photographing Helen and Mike’s wedding day at one of my favourite venues in Cornwall, Trevenna Barns.
Due to some heavy and persistent showers, the couple’s planned outdoor ceremony in the venue’s Oak Arbour was moved indoors to the Garden Room, which was beautifully decorated to match the wedding colour scheme of ivory, cream and green.
Helen wore an elegant, sleek wedding dress from Sam Cox Bridal, with dusky blue suede sling-back heels to match the colours in her bouquet.
She opted for pastel shades for her wedding flowers, which were provided by St Mellion Flowers and consisted of roses, stocks, and blue thistle, tied with hessian and a pastel blue ribbon.
Fastened to the bouquet was a small photo of Helen’s father, who had sadly passed away.
A larger frame also containing a picture of her father, was seated next to her mother in the Garden Room for the ceremony. Helen wanted to ensure that he was with them all on their very special day.
Helen’s three bridesmaids all wore dusky silver/light grey chiffon dresses with simple bouquets consisting of a single rose with eucalyptus.
Her three flower girls wore flower crowns and wrist corsages, which were in keeping with the bridesmaid’s flowers.
Mike looked well-dressed in full military uniform, complete with sword and the couple enjoyed a walk underneath an arch of steel, which was provided by fellow servicemen and women following the ceremony.
Here’s a few highlights from their wedding day…
