A Summer Pengenna Manor wedding
As a professional wedding photographer in Cornwall all events are different but yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of a very dear friend of mine at the beautiful Pengenna Manor at Trelill, Wadebridge.
Sophie has been a friend of mine for many years, and it is because of her and our photography adventures together a few years ago, that I decided to pursue a career as a wedding photographer in Cornwall. It made shooting this country wedding at Pengenna Manor all the more special. Pengenna is tucked away in a quiet, secluded valley just three miles inland from the North Cornish coast. It is an 800-year-old private family home which is set in over 300 acres of beautiful Cornish countryside. This Elizabethan country house was hired on an exclusive basis for Sophie, Rob and their 60 or so guests to celebrate their joining of hands in marriage.
Pengenna Manor has its origins as a small medieval hall house that was dramatically extended during the reign of Elizabeth I, refaced in the late 17th century, and then extended further in the 18th and 19th centuries. The current owners have been at Pengenna for over 150 years, only deciding in 2012 to open it up for others to enjoy as much as they have over the years. It truly is a magnificent venue for the perfect wedding day.
Sophie and Rob took their vows yesterday in the summer house which was decorated in white paper laser-cut bunting. The surrounding apple and cherry blossom trees were strung with a variety of brightly coloured pom-poms, which stood out against the beautiful views down and across the valley; this was a dream to capture for a wedding photographer in Cornwall.
Their reception resembled an English summer tea party and was held in a large purpose built marquee on the lawn, it was a beautiful area for their special day which I was fortunate enough to capture. It’s days like these that make me love being a professional wedding photographer in Cornwall even more.
Guests were given the opportunity to play a range of popular garden games both before and after the tea party.
With being a professional wedding photographer in Cornwall I was able to capture this main image of the happy couple during our portrait shoot together within the grounds of the manor house. I chose this shot as I thought it reflected their amazing sense of humour.
Here they are happily taking their first steps into married life together… Congratulations Sophie and Rob!
